Guernsey’s Director of Civil Aviation issues its second Air Operator Certificate

Tuesday 20 March 2018

Today, the Director of Civil Aviation (DCA) of Guernsey handed over its second public category Air Operator Certificate to Business Aircraft Services Guernsey Limited – trading as BAS Guernsey, a newly established Guernsey-based Business Jet operator. BAS Guernsey plans to position itself as a market leader in executive jet global operations and is the first to operate the Boeing 787-8 VVIP aircraft, making it available for worldwide charter.

An Air Operator Certificate (AOC) allows the operator to promote its charter services for public carriage of passengers or cargo for remuneration. Whilst the authority for issuing the air carrier certificate rests with its Director, the certification and audit work itself is performed by 2-REG, the registry of Guernsey.

‘Having met the stringent 2-REG requirements, BAS Guernsey is very proud to be receiving a Guernsey AOC. The addition of an operating base in Guernsey offers a spring board to the European business aviation market, allowing us to provide a much more personal service to EU clients and for global operations.’ – Mr. Denzil White CEO, BAS Guernsey Ltd.
